As part of the module, I made ceramic pieces and experimented with porcelain painting.
I. Peruvian Ceramics
I created this piece using red clay, coated it with blue slip, and finished it with a clear glaze. The firing process created an icy effect, giving the impression that fish are swimming beneath the ice. I decided to depict fish on the base of the bowl because the blue bottom reminded me of the sea. Furthermore, ancient Native Americans often featured fish on their pottery. There are inscriptions in Greek and Latin that translate to «Sea World.»

II. Stylization of Italian Majolica
The plate is crafted from white clay using underglaze painting techniques. At the center of the composition, I depicted a unicorn, symbolizing purity and bravery, while the rim of the plate is adorned with a pattern characteristic of maiolica.

III. Botanical Garden
The overglaze painting was applied to a pre-made porcelain plate. I depicted a violet from the botanical garden, with the stages of a bud unfurling along the rim, and a Latin inscription.
