My original project, «Us and Music, ” is an exploration of listeners, singers, players, and dancers—along with records, stages, headphones, and other physical objects related to music, presented in the format of a handmade zine. This piece was executed entirely by hand, utilizing colored stamp pads paired with sponge, watercolor and oil paints, colored pencils, and markers. I aimed to reimagine this project while preserving the most successful color, stylistic, and textural choices.
Redesign
To develop this project, I utilized various generative AI platforms:
GPT-6 — for analyzing the source material, conceptualizing the redesign, and generating Russian-language texts;
DeepSeek — for clearly structuring the concepts generated by GPT;
Gemini — for creating more «humanized» phrasing and creative copy;
GPT Image, ideogram, Leonardo Ai — for visual generation;
DeepL — for translating from Russian to English in instances where I found it difficult.I wrote all prompts for the images exclusively in English, while I used Russian for generating text and discussing the concept.
I. Developing a New Concept
I have attached the entire series of works from the original project and used this prompt with GPT: «The attached file contains a series of works exploring listeners, singers, players, and dancers, as well as records, stages, headphones, and other physical objects associated with music, presented in a [format]. GPT offered me several different ideas, but we ultimately agreed that they could be merged. After sending the discussion summary with GPT to DeepSeek and asking it to concisely formulate a concept, I received this response: «A brand of musical kits that help recognize and experience emotional states through sound, color, handcrafted imagery, and tactile sensations. Around each state there is a complete system of objects: a magnetic music record and a suitable player case matching the mood, illustrations and stickers, as well as embossed cards. The player becomes a universal device, and the kits allow it to be personalized. In this way, one can choose, touch, and live through an emotion. Initially, three kits are available: „DISCHARGE, ” „ISOLATION, ” and „CONNECTION, ” but the assortment will expand further.“
II. Title
I sent GPT the prompt: «Suggest several highly suitable names based on the approved concept.»
The AI offered options such as: «RESONANCE» «WARM NOISE» «BETWEEN THE NOTES» «WAVE» «FEEL THE SOUND»
It noted that its favorite was the first option, with which I completely agreed.
