Concept
RESTRICTED WATERS — a web synthesizer disguised as a subsea research station interface.
The user is presented with a closed-water observation system. Instead of familiar musical keys, there is a coordinate grid, unknown objects, signal pulses, and frequency control panels. The user seems to be attempting to establish a connection with something hidden underwater.

Tool Setup
RESTRICTED WATERS consists of two independent sonic voices that emulate the acoustic environment of underwater surveillance. The sound is generated using the Tone.js library and is processed through separate effect chains.
CH 01 ECHO TRANSMISSION Generates short, high-frequency pulses reminiscent of echolocation pings.
CH 02 DEEP FREQUENCY Forms low, sustained tones that convey a sense of depth and underwater space.
Management and Playback
Both voices have independent volume and stereo panning controls. Automatic musical sequences are played through Tone.Part and synchronized by a common Tone.Transport.The user can enable automatic playback, manually trigger individual signals via an interactive field, and modify sound parameters in real time.
Module Completion Plan
01 Visual Response to Sound Strengthen the connection between imagery and sound: incorporate animations of sonar waves, light pulses, and underwater objects that react to the signal’s frequency and intensity.
02 Development of the Sound System Refine the voicing of the two tracks, expand the control over effects and musical sequences. Make the transitions between sonic states smoother and more expressive.
03 Final Interface Polish Improve responsiveness, define element states, and slightly rethink the water design.
04 Implement Responsiveness
