In the 1970s, my grandfather traveled to East Germany to work, where he managed to visit the Berlin Palace of Republic and a restaurant located on its grounds.The colorful memories of his happy youth were overshadowed by the news that the building was demolished in 2008 (the primary reason cited was the high presence of asbestos in the construction materials), but memory is eternal, and Bernshtayn’s project is a memory of my grandfather.
The Palace of the Republic was located near the Berlin TV Tower, so it was decided to implement the Moscow project, BERNSTAIN, near the Ostankino Tower—on Akademika Korolyova Street.
