The video report follows the preparation and filming of a performance for the «Open-Quantum» exhibition.

The complexity lies in finding a scientific conference where a performance can be filmed, so the entire process of preparation and venue scouting becomes part of the reportage—presented as screen recordings featuring correspondence with researchers and organizers.
Preparation amidst endless emails
The performance itself also becomes part of the video report, which blurs the line between the narrative and the filming process. This merging is achieved using a «bad rotoscoping» effect in post-production.

A background video, featuring animation reminiscent of a quantum particle, was specially created for the performance. During the coverage, this background integrates into the video, penetrating it.

Costumes for the performance were also created, and the making-of process was featured in the report.

Costume design
The idea behind the performance is based on the duality between rigorous, rational knowledge and spontaneous sensory experience. We deliberately view quantum physics through the eyes of a non-expert, preserving its aura of mystery and the right to naive, ironic perception. Through deliberately awkward improvisational choreography and the aesthetics of 1980s video art, this complex scientific phenomenon is brought out of the laboratory to reclaim a living, human dimension—a space where the quantum can be humorous and accessible to sensory experience.»
