The Samarian library of the people of Povolzhia is a space where, through books, exhibitions, and educational programmes, visitors are introduced to the province’s rich heritage. The main focus is on raising interest in culture among children and adolescents, but it also works with students, teachers, and researchers.
One group of librarians is souvenir products. The basic idea is to rethink the traditional patterns of the peoples of Volgia and to create a modern visual code, preserving symbolism and internal meaning.
Rethinking traditional patterns

National toy
Another idea of the souvenir is to create a traditional clay toy that is associated with Samara and the local culture. The choice fell on a wild white goat, a symbol of the city on the coat of arms. Animals mean prosperity, courage, and leadership. The toy is supplemented by a painting with national motives. *The image was created by a neuronet.
