RE: FORM

Today, beauty has become the currency by which personal worth is measured. We live in the era of optimizing biology, biohacking, and lux-maximizing. Bodily presence is under the microscope: society scrutinizes perceived «flaws,» while the beauty industry relentlessly pushes women toward ever-newer methods of self-improvement, sometimes reaching absurdity.

My project explores archetypal young women who chase an unattainable ideal of beauty and can never stop. They seek beauty procedures at a metaphorical factory of beauty—a place of mutation where, instead of achieving the promised perfection, the patients acquire strange, frightening features. My heroines become trapped in a cycle between self-admiration and self-loathing, a struggle familiar to many contemporary women.
