The concept behind the Queen’s Gambit limited-edition packaging is rooted in the connection between authentic Indian whisky and the cultural heritage of India—the birthplace of chess. The central visual element is the queen chess piece, which dictates both the name and the sculptural nature of the bottle. Its silhouette interprets the form of a chess figure, transforming it into a collectible design object.

The chess theme runs throughout the packaging and continues in the gift box, where the classic chessboard is reinterpreted using natural wood. Crafted using marquetry, the box combines veneers of different shades and textures to create an expressive pattern that underscores the object’s premium nature and harmonizes with the whiskey’s rich amber color.
The opening process itself becomes a distinct ritual: two doors with magnetic latches slide apart in opposite directions, revealing an interior lined with textile and a dedicated recess for the bottle. Together, the form inspired by the queen chess piece, the wooden chessboard, and the thoughtful opening mechanism create a cohesive collector’s object, in which chess serves as a visual language expressing Indian heritage and the unique character of the whiskey.
