Design Object: The former «Volochayevsky» Brewery (previously state-owned wine warehouse).
The industrial building is located in the central district of Omsk, at 9 Volochayevskaya St.
Research Topic:
The transformation of the existing territory and buildings of the former «Volochayevsky» brewery into a city hub, with the goal of preserving a cultural heritage monument within the context of urban infrastructure.
Гипотеза
The study and adaptation of global experience in repurposing industrial architecture, specifically at the former Volochayevsky Brewery facility, will help bring the existing structure to the status of a major urban attraction in Omsk by integrating public functions.
Successfully applying global best practices and experience in engaging with cultural heritage sites at the «Volochayevsky» brewery building will accelerate its integration into the urban context of the developing Omsk district.
WHY
Актуальность
In the context of a developing city, it is very difficult to preserve the existing «Volochayevsky» brewery as a cultural heritage landmark of Omsk. Therefore, studying ways to integrate the «Volochayevsky» brewery into the urban environment, drawing on successful global examples of repurposing industrial structures, is highly relevant.
The building holds the status of a State Object of Cultural Heritage, which accounts for the first reason necessitating renovation.

If this point is ignored, the former brewery faces partial, and subsequently complete, destruction—an irreparable loss of a cultural heritage monument for the city’s cultural center.
