Привычный вид — медиа о дизайне повседневности
Концепция, тематический план на полгода и 10 образцов контента

01 / Take another look
Design doesn’t begin in a museum. It’s on the building entrance, in a box of tea, and on the price tag at the checkout counter.
«Familiar Views» helps us notice these decisions: what we read first, why we get lost near a directional sign, and how packaging creates expectations.
One post—one familiar object, a clear explanation, and a small assignment. Our goal is to learn how to see more in the ordinary.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Anya studies design — she wants to understand why a layout works. Ilya is taking on his first client projects — he is looking for techniques for menus and posters. Sasha loves walking around — he wants to notice the city’s details. Lena runs a workshop — she handles the design of price lists and announcements herself.
These are hypothetical personas. After the launch, we will check them based on reader feedback.
WHERE AND HOW
Community on VKontakte. Two posts per week: analysis + practice. Short texts, images, and simple comparisons.
ON VIEW — we analyze a familiar object. ONE CHANGE — we alter a single detail. VIEW CHECK — we try it ourselves. WITH OUR OWN HANDS — we improve our own mockups.
We speak plainly. We explain with examples. We never mock other people’s design.
02 / Mid-Term Observation
24 Weeks · 48 Posts
Each week: one analysis and one assignment.01. LEARNING TO OBSERVE
Signage → price tags → menus → outdoor displays.
We learn to find the essential information and understand reading order.02. LETTERS ALL AROUND US
Typefaces → caps → spacing → handwritten signs.
We explore what makes text legible and effective.
PACKAGING AND EXPECTATIONS Color → name → image → texture. We separate the impression from the product facts.
THE CITY EXPLAINS THE ROUTE Arrows → signs → house numbers → temporary placards. We check if the message helps find the way.
- ONE THING—DIFFERENT SOLUTIONS
Announcement → menu → packaging → text accents.
We adapt the design to the context and the task.06. WE TRY IT OURSELVES
Visual journal → your announcement → indicators → final review.
We put together a small project using the techniques we learned. Each topic with an arrow takes one week. We keep extra weeks in the calendar for selections and reader Q&A.
03 / Everyday Design
Ten short posts for VKontakte. Each can be read in a minute and immediately checked against something familiar. Illustrations are educational models created with AI.
01 / When Everything Matters Most
IN VIEW A red headline, bold date, underlined address. Everything demands attention—and it’s unclear where to begin. First, decide what the person needs to do: come in, call, or pick up. Make this information the most prominent. TRY THIS: look at the notice. Is what you read first actually the most important thing?
02. Pricing: Did you see the price before?
LOOKING AT ITA huge «-40%» is on the tag. But how much to pay—that’s written in fine print.Text size dictates the emphasis: first, we notice the discount, and then we look for the price and the conditions.TRY THIS: Imagine the price in a large font, and the discount in a small one. What became easier to find out?
03. Segmented Menu
LOOK AT THIS
If tea, soup, and dessert are listed in a single continuous block, drinks have to be hunted down among all the dishes.
Dividers and white space between sections help the reader process the menu in parts. The price must be placed next to its corresponding dish.
TRY THIS: find one section in the menu that could only be made clearer through spacing.
04. The signage passes two different exams
VIEWPOINT CHECK
Near the sign it might be beautiful, but across the street—illegible.
Check it twice: at the entrance and from a distance. Is the name visible? Do the letters blend into the background?
TRY THIS: Shrink your mockup on the screen. What information is still readable?
05 / One Tea — Two Impressions
ONE SHIFTOne tea—two boxes. One green with leaves and one bright with geometry. Which seems calmer? Which is bolder? These are associations. The packaging itself does not prove quality or composition.TRY THIS: separate your impressions into «read on the label» and «guessed from appearance.»
06. There is an arrow. Is it clear where to go?
IN VIEW Two doors. Above them is «Exhibition →». Enter the right door or keep going?
The signpost needs to be checked where the person chooses their path. Even a clear arrow might be misplaced.
TRY THIS: find the signpost and follow it. Where would you want clarification?
07. When the entire text becomes the heading
ONE CHANGE
«We open on Saturday at 12:00 PM.» «Open Saturday at 12:00 PM.»
The first option sounds more assertive. But if the entire text is equally loud, it is harder to highlight a key detail.
TRY THIS: leave only one emphasis in the announcement—the opening time.
08. Handwriting also makes decisions
IN VIEW «The doorbell isn’t working. Knock.»
Even a simple note has design: font size, placement on the door, and a clear call to action. It’s crucial that people see it before pressing the doorbell.
TRY THIS: Find a DIY note that really helps people. What is its power?
