Sofia Chicchina is an artist, an illustrator, who participates in Russian exhibitions. Born in Orenburg in 2003. She graduated from the ICU School of Design in Animation and Illustration (2021 — 2025). Works in different media, such as painting, graphics, textiles, ceramics. Lives and works in Moscow. In personal artistic practice, the artist is interested in the perversion of aesthetics. The stories on which the work is focused imply both a deep interest and a shameful revulsion for that interest. Also in his work, Sofia explores a person through the lens of innerly desired but socially rejected and unacceptable, seeking sincerity.

«Chickinna S’s penultimate trouble.»
Author’s mythology is being developed through artwork with embroidery, graphics and fragments of internal monologues. It is based on a conditional world in which a person falls into body and noise. The body is an empty vessel, a house, a shell. Noises are internal impulses, desires, doubts, and fragments of other people’s voices. They argue among themselves, wander in space, and begin to realize themselves only when they lose their bodies, and lose their support.

The Graphic Series is accompanied by painting in the format of the history — a comic book, an alphabet, and a map of the route. Here the noises, when they hit the texture, stop and turn into letters. Letters form a new, non-existent language through which you can try to «read» yourself — not in an attempt to provide a clear answer, but in recognition of the impossibility of doing so.

A graph for the nonfixing of a book about how people design reality around a doll, replacing it with important aspects of life. Through the doll live what is «real» that is avoided in reality. Two broad-format graphs were also produced on the basis of the series.

«4 drops of chemicals»
«4 drops of chemicals» is a series of paintings inspired by the winter march to the city water park. The series was built with sounds that accompanied white white people in an attempt to capture the joy of synthetic spa life. The echo of an empty pool, the rare splash of a heel underwater, the sound of a loud radio, the sound of a public steam — a weekend symphony written in paint.
