Each piece here is an attempt to breathe life, emotion, and the trace of the human soul into solid material.
Mikhail Chavushyan
Sculptor, creator of numerous sculptural compositions and monuments. Instructor for the «Animation Sculpture» course in the Animation, Illustration, and Computer Graphics specialization at the HSE Art and Design School. Character artist. From 2001 to 2016, he headed the sculpture departments of several animation studios, including «Solnechny Dom, ” „Da-Studio, ” and „Soyuzmultfilm.“
Holy Source, 2014
Sergi took one monk with him and went with him to a wooded ravine beneath the monastery, where he found some rainwater. Relying on the prayers of the brotherhood, he boldly appealed for miraculous divine assistance. Kneeling, the Venerable began to pray.
Suddenly, by his prayer, a large spring burst forth in this spot, which still flows today and from which water is drawn for all the monastery’s needs, thanks to God and His servant Sergius.
The sculptural depiction of the saint was recreated based on an analysis of iconographic material under the curation of the abbot of the Troitse-Sergiyeva Lavra, Bishop Feognost.

A film about the spiritual leader of a nation. Medieval Rus’ was home to a long succession of thinkers and preachers. Their names should stand alongside those of military commanders, statesmen, architects, and artists. One such figure who must be restored to his rightful place in national history is the Abbot Sergius of the Trinity-St. Sergius Monastery.
