Hey there! My name is Viktoria Zenkova. I am Character-focused visual storyteller.

I. CGI

My work is not only about technical execution. I use illustration, 3D, sculpting, texturing, rigging and animation as tools to give a character personality, emotion, history and a sense of life.

Meet Glinko!

post

A cemetery should be a place
where the dead can finally rest.Glinko disagrees!

The project began with the concept of Glinko, a lonely goblin-reptile creature living among abandoned graves with his only companion — a shovel almost as big as he is. I developed the character from a 3D sculpt into a production-ready model through retopology, UV mapping, texturing and rigging. The final stage was an animated short that revealed Glinko’s personality through movement and his favorite activity — disturbing graves. The goal was not only to create a technically complete character, but to make him feel expressive, alive and connected to his own world.

II. Illustrations

The office, metro station and overgrown interiors were designed as fragments of a world that stopped functioning almost overnight. Boarded windows, empty platforms, scattered objects and vegetation reclaiming indoor spaces suggest that people left in a hurry and never returned. The environments are meant to support the characters’ journey and gradually increase the sense of isolation, uncertainty and danger. At the same time, traces of ordinary life remain visible, making the catastrophe feel more personal and believable.

III. Animations

This exercise focused on understanding body mechanics through simple rigs. I explored how weight, balance, rhythm and character can be communicated through movement by working on a regular walk, a stylized walk, posing, running and obstacle jumps. The final task was an emotion-change study, where body language and timing were used to show a shift in the character’s internal state. The project helped me better understand how even simple motion can reveal personality and make a character feel more alive.

This module focused on making a character feel alive through facial expression, gesture and speech. I worked with facial animation, body language and articulation to understand how emotion can be communicated not only through movement, but also through subtle changes in expression and timing. I also created a custom sound library that was later used in a dialogue scene, allowing the animation, voice and character performance to work together as one complete moment. The project helped me explore how personality can be revealed through the smallest details — a glance, a gesture, a pause or a change in tone.
