Relevance of VI
Music groups are more than just sound; they are a social practice, an identity, and a subculture. The way a comic depicts a group—through rehearsals, concerts, conflicts, or daily life—contributes to the construction of perceptions about musicians and their communities. All of this makes the research productive for understanding how visual culture shapes our «hearing» of music.Existing studies either focus on the general mechanisms of sound visualization in manga and webtoons or analyze the musical biographies of individual composers. Group musical performance presents unique challenges to the artist: conveying the sound of multiple instruments, the visual «groove, ” and the energy of a live performance, which requires a dedicated analytical framework.
Connection to the Final Qualification Work (or: Capstone Project)
By studying how authors use graphic narrative techniques to convey the sounds of musical instruments and reflect the mood on stage, one can identify valuable details that can be controlled to create the desired atmosphere. This allows you to evoke the right emotions in the reader during crucial cathartic moments in the story and convey the intended sound effect through text or visual elements.
