The poster was created as part of the Poster Laboratory for the St. Petersburg underground club KONTRKULT and was exhibited at the HSE ART Gallery exhibition, «What have you done for hip-hop in your years?»
In this piece, I wanted to convey my personal feelings about rave—that state where everything is in motion: the pulse quickens, the light flickers, flashes briefly seize individual images from the darkness, and you gradually dissolve into the crowd.

The foundation of the visual concept is color inversion. The dominant violet and pink hues contrast with the blue upper third of the background, creating the effect of a flashbulb capture. This technique references the fragmented nature of the rave experience, where space is composed of short light impulses and blurred motion.
At the center of the poster is a blurred image of a girl’s head, from whose hair the club name KONTRKULT emerges. The shape of the hair conveys the physical sensation of dancing—it leaps upward in motion, as if frozen in a rave moment. The blur, in turn, creates a sense of dissolving into the crowd, where an individual loses sharp definition and becomes part of the collective movement.
