Concept
There’s a story about a sound artist who was trying to create a perfect tool — a synthesiser with no mistakes or accidents that could connect the living heat of the analog and the cold accuracy of the figure. The system grew, complicated, and one day began to sound on its own, without its interference. Since then, it has been said that the man in this car is no longer the owner, but just another parameter.
Technical description
General logic of the system
The system is built as a hybrid sound environment in which the software and hardware work in parallel and mutually reinforcing. SuperCollider acts as an autonomous core manager, generating MIDI notes and MIDI CC messages that are transmitted to a modular synthesizer. At the same time, the SuperCollider operates its own sound layer, independent of and complementary to external synthesis.
MIDI Message Generator
MIDI-note generator
The MIDI generator in SuperCollider operates as a stochastic system with internal logic and slowly changing parameters. The height of the note is based on different types of re-domination and smooth morphing between distributions, thus avoiding repeatability and fixed pathers. The MIDI CC messages are used to continuously manage the fusion parameters, turning the digital code into a live stream of stress control.
MIDI-CC Generator
Integration with modular synthesizer
The MIDI messages are transmitted to the Vermona qMI 2 module, where they are converted to CV lamps. The MIDI notes control the height of the 1V/oct oscillators, while the MIDI CC is used to modify the key parameters of analog synthesis, the shapes of the bending, the frequency of the LFO, and the depth of the frequency unit. The sound sources and modules are the Endorphin.es Furthrrrrr Generator modules, which act as an oscillator and LFO, as well as the XAOC Zadar modules, which are responsible for the formation of complex inhibitors. So algorithmic processes from the program environment have a direct impact on the physical analog pattern.
SuperCollider Granulators
Granulators
In parallel with the modular synthesizer, SuperCollider has two independent granulators, each with its own set of sounds and parameters. They process pre-loading audio files, creating dense, unstable textures that exist as a separate sound layer. Unlike a controlled MIDI synthesis, granulators function autonomously, increasing the sense of a system that can sound and develop without direct human intervention.
