The Red Kangaroo is considered the largest modern marsupial, and it bears this title with dignity (see figure). Males often grow taller than humans, and their powerful hind legs can reach speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour, making any attempt to catch up with the animal pure fantasy. Despite their impressive size, the red giant prefers a peaceful life across the vast Australian outback, where there is only one important skill—jumping elegantly and efficiently. Curiously, males sometimes «pose, ” flexing the muscles of their torso as if they were members of a local gym. Scientists believe that this display of strength helps them avoid real conflicts. This, in turn, certainly proves that kangaroos possess common sense.
