Concept
An artwork is traditionally perceived as a finished object—a result separated from the process of its creation. However, the creative process does not always lead to a final form; it can remain open, change, and retain numerous possible solutions.
The tapestry explores incompleteness as an independent artistic condition. By combining dense interweavings, deconstructed forms, and open sections of fabric, it makes the process of image emergence visible. Here, incompleteness functions not as a flaw, but as a deliberate rejection of a singular final form.
The work poses a question: Must an artwork be complete to be considered a work of art? (Based on the painting «Athenaeum Portrait of George Washington» by Gilbert Stuart)
