The MYCO-Chair is the first mushroom chair in Russia. He was raised in 2021 on sawdust from the mycelium of Trutovik.
Mycelium is a state-of-the-art green material that can replace a whole set of synthetic materials when creating furniture.
Several versions of the material were developed as part of the experiment. He used the mycelium of the hanging and the treutovian. The substrate on which the mushrooms grew was hay, straw, sawdust, and measles.
The wooden framework is a traditional green material. The sawdust remaining from wood processing may be used to grow a chair. Thus, the production of furniture can become waste-free.
The chair was released in two sizes as a mushroom family. For every member of the family, it’s a mushroom chair.
The MYCO-Chair entered the shortlist of the contestants in 2022.
