«Four Legs, Kind Heart”—a multimedia longread dedicated to the Malanichev farmstead, „Grishkino’s Enclosure,“ in the Leningrad Region, and its social mission. The core of the piece is the story of the stable itself, which has become a rehabilitation center for children with developmental differences under the „Little Sun in the Mane“ program. We take you inside hippotherapy: from preparing the therapeutic horses and managing daily stable life to the daily work of the specialists. Through the personal stories of families, we show how this place and its unique ethos help children with disabilities take their first steps toward victory.
Task: To tell the story of the social significance of hippotherapy through the genre of reportage and show how rehabilitation changes the lives of children with disabilities.
What we did: We conducted fieldwork at a stable in the Leningrad Oblast, interviewed specialists and parents, wrote the text, and designed an interactive longread.
