Mythical St. Petersburg — a collection of jewelry pieces dedicated to the guardians of St. Petersburg’s architecture.
Mythical creatures—gorgons, griffins, mermaids, pegasi, and sirens—originally served as protective charms. The Gorgoneion guarded against evil, the griffin protected treasures and secrets, the mermaid connected to the water element, and the Sirens and Alkonost proclaimed the connection between worlds. Today, these guardians hover high above us, out of the common citizen’s sight. This project translates them into the format of silver brooches, transforming facade sculpture into a personal amulet.

Materials
Material and Construction: The body is made of impact-resistant cast polyurethane resin with metallic and silvered finishes. The lightweight structure, featuring cutouts on the reverse side, maintains a large scale while keeping the weight low; reinforcements are provided at the attachment points. Approximate dimensions are 80–100 mm on the longest side, with a relief depth of 4–7 mm. With the fastening mechanism, the mass is 40–50 g. Surface and Fastening: The finish is either matte or satin, and the edges and reverse side are smoothed. The reverse side features a horizontal brooch clasp with a steel pin (40–70 mm) and a swivel safety catch; the base is secured to a recessed metal plate that distributes the load across the surface.
Metallization and silvering were chosen as a material historically associated with protection and purification, which amplifies the idea of an amulet.
«Medusa Gorgon» Brooch
The fine line between beauty and danger. A silver brooch where the Gorgon’s face is not frightening, but mesmerizing. It reminds us that true strength lies in the ability to be multifaceted—cold as metal and warm as the patina left by time. This is jewelry for those who are not afraid to look into the unknown.

Pegasus Brooch
The winged horse, born from the drops of Medusa’s blood—a symbol of freedom that cannot be contained. This brooch seems to have captured the moment just before the wings beat: one more second and it will soar away. In the silver, it is not the weight of the metal that is frozen, but the lightness of flight. For those who always strive to reach higher.
Brooch «Ichthyocentaure»
A creature that commands both the land and the deep sea. The Ichthyocentaur is not merely a hybrid; it is a symbol of duality—within it resides the untamed power of the horse, the wisdom of humanity, and the freedom of the ocean wave. The silver relief seems to pull it from the depths of ages, a mysterious guardian of the ancient waters—for those who feel at home in every element.
