Lin Lin was born into an ancient, noble Chinese family. From birth, she suffered from a rare illness that limited her mobility and caused breathing difficulties.

When her condition worsened, her family entrusted the girl to a scientific laboratory. There, she underwent surgery to become a cyborg: parts of her human organs were replaced with mechanical components.
