Hunger connects people stronger than trust
Alternative Barcelona in the 1980s. A middle-class woman whose restaurant is robbed and burned down finds connections in the police and establishes a roadside diner on the charred site. She begins feeding the city’s homeless population, turning them into her eyes and ears on those grim streets.

Mercedes, 36 years old. Lives in a tiny room above her diner on El-Rawal Street.
Development Process

After losing her family and nearly all her material possessions, the girl opens a dive bar whose true purpose is to find criminals.

She is a bridge between worlds:
Her homeless network is the city’s eyes and ears, her restaurant is a sanctuary and a headquarters.
The protagonist knows everyone, and no one knows her true intentions.
Light cotton clothing, an apron, a scarf—practical and modest, yet full of attention to detail. She is not wealthy, but she is not destitute—she holds her back straight and meets your gaze. Fatigue and stubbornness read in her appearance.
