Character Concepts
IMA
A lively and cheerful girl who radiates energy to everyone around her. She takes charge of everything and never waits for someone else to solve a problem. Ima never gives up on her goals, even when the path proves difficult. She is very inventive and always comes up with unexpected, bold solutions. Ima loves bright colors—her clothing, belongings, and ideas seem to glow with a rainbow. She is very active, never sits still for a minute, and is always the first to arrive everywhere. A smile is almost never absent from her face, even in challenging situations. Being with Ima is never boring; she has the ability to inspire and captivate anyone. This girl is a little whirlwind of joy, persistence, and creativity.
Nikko
A quiet and reserved boy—a complete contrast to Ima. He is highly observant and notices things that others often overlook. Nikko is sensitive and emotional, but he doesn’t display his feelings as outwardly as Ima does. He is very kind and especially loves animals. Nikko is a dreamer: he constantly wanders in his thoughts, imagining different stories and worlds. He has a very vivid imagination, so he loves to draw. In his artwork, he expresses everything he doesn’t say aloud. Next to Ima, he seems quiet, but inside him lies an entire universe.

In rooms that were recently vibrant with life, cardboard boxes filled with belongings now pile up. Light streams through the windows onto bare walls, and shadows deepen on the floor where furniture once sat—traces of a presence that is soon to become the past.

This is an island of freedom where the blue sky takes away all your problems. Here, above the antennas and wires, time flows differently: you can sit on the edge, letting your legs dangle into the void, and feel reality becoming nothing more than a distant hum below. This is a world of imagination thrown wide open—a place where everything is possible, and beyond the horizon hides everything that hasn’t happened yet. Here, it feels like if you just close your eyes—a dream will burst through reality, coloring the sky with bright hues.

Script
In a house cluttered with boxes, a calendar hangs with a marked date—the day of departure. Two characters lie on the roof, gazing at the sky, saddened by the imminent farewell. Suddenly, an idea strikes them; together, they draw their dream on a piece of paper and fold it into a paper airplane. Leaning over the railing, they launch it into the sky, making a wish and imagining themselves running across a bright field under a sky filled with flying fish from their imagination. The friends reach the edge, beyond which lies an endless sea—an endless future. They swear on their pinkies, promising not to be afraid of growing up and to definitely meet again someday.

Personal Contribution
As part of this project, I developed visual concepts for the main characters—Ima and Nikko—paying special attention to the individuality and expressiveness of their designs. I worked on the silhouettes and proportions of the characters, refining facial features, eye shapes, hairstyles, and distinctive physical details. I created several costume variations, exploring different combinations of forms, colors, and clothing elements that matched the characters' personalities and the overall style of the animated film.
