Concept
The project is based on an original illustration built upon the aesthetic of medieval stained glass. It depicts the main characters of the animated series in a style that suggests they are far from simple criminals.
The first impression of the canvas is that of a monumental and solemn ancient artifact. Four figures stand in heroic, confident poses, reminiscent of legendary heroes. The textile texture and thick black outlines, which imitate lead cames, lend the image weight and materiality.However, the stained-glass style and details disrupt the familiar idyll. Geometric background sectors collide cold and aggressive colors, creating a sense of latent tension. The characters themselves are not court knights, but outcasts and criminals operating outside the system. The symbols of stained glass become a metaphor for their method: they shatter conventional reality into pieces so that the light of justice can shine through the cracks. The world of the tapestry feels simultaneously epic and dangerous—like a nighttime raid where everything is subservient to a single goal, but which promises no tranquility.
Main Idea
The tapestry is considered the material embodiment of stained-glass light and refracted reality.
