Concept
«Simply Dog» is a ceramic wall object featuring a relief depiction of a dog. For one viewer, it might be merely an image of an animal; for another, it could be a reflection of personal affection, warm memories, and the joy of interacting with a pet. The piece leaves room for individual interpretation, reminding us that the same image can hold different meanings for every person.
Stages of Production
The main objective of this project is to develop a manufacturing technology for a ceramic item that allows for serial reproduction when necessary, without having to redesign it from scratch. To achieve this, a plaster mold for casting must be created.

Sketch / Model from Sculpting Clay
The work begins with sketch development, upon which a tile model is created from sculpting clay. Next, a formwork is made from foam board, onto which the clay mold is secured. All seams and gaps are sealed with adhesive, and the structure is additionally reinforced with tape to prevent leakage of the gypsum mixture.

Finished plaster mold / Formwork after mold removal
After preparing the mold, plaster is mixed and poured inside, completely encasing the clay model. Once the plaster hardens, the mold is removed from the formwork, and the clay is extracted. The plaster cast requires additional time to dry completely—roughly up to one week, depending on the conditions. The resulting mold allows ceramic tiles to be reproduced using the slip casting method, preserving the specified geometry and relief of the object. This approach simplifies the re-creation of the item and establishes the basis for its subsequent mass production.
