Art in Parts
Collection of modular constructors inspired by works of art
From Painting to Constructor
The project is based on the idea of transforming familiar artistic compositions into collectible construction kits. Here, everything—from form to color to the arrangement of elements—becomes a separate piece that forms a cohesive object.Instead of a traditional image on a flat surface, there is an object that one can interact with. It can be disassembled, reassembled, and the structure of the composition can be examined through individual parts. The collection unites three works: Piet Mondrian’s «Composition with Red, Blue and Yellow,» Kazimir Malevich’s «Black Square,» and Vasily Kandinsky’s «Up.»Each kit retains the recognizable characteristics of the original while translating them into the language of modular plastic components.
«Composition with Red, Blue, and Yellow» Piet Mondrian, «Black Square» Kazimir Malevich, and «Up» Vasily Kandinsky.
The foundation of every construction set is a plate featuring a modular grid. Individual elements attach to this plate, allowing an image to be formed. The grid increment is 16 mm. Smooth, colored pieces convey the forms and color planes of original artworks, while the open sections of the base retain the characteristic texture of the construction set.The collection utilizes various forms: from Mondrian’s rectangular plates and Malevich’s single square to Kandinsky’s rounded and asymmetrical elements. This unified assembly principle enables the creation of vastly different artistic compositions.
