IDEA
The core of the scarf pattern is based on the artistic work of the Suprematist Ilya Grigorievich Chashnik. The pattern is created from individual geometric elements of his paintings, which have been reinterpreted, distorted, and transformed into a new composition. The lines, rectangles, arcs, and color planes retain the character of Suprematism but acquire their own rhythm and dynamism.
The pattern’s concept is connected to my art object, the «Route 1902» project, which is dedicated to the beginning of Ilya Chashnik’s artistic journey. The elongated black elements and parallel lines resemble railway tracks and paths, symbolizing movement, travel, and continuous development. The intersections of the geometric shapes are associated with the intertwining of routes, and the repetition of elements creates a sense of perpetual motion, much like the movement of trains.
