The project is a documentary film based on interviews with a person in remission after substance abuse. The goal of the project is to draw attention to the issue of drug use and to show how the conviction of having complete control over the situation can prevent a person from admitting a problem and seeking help.
In the project «Illusion of Control, ” Rianna Chernyakova served as the producer. She was the project founder, the originator of the main idea and title. She also assembled the team, managed the process, and fully outlined the step-by-step implementation plan, which we later followed.
Like any project, «Illusions of Control» needed a space to convey its ideas to people. To spread our thoughts and find resonance, we created a Telegram channel where you can view behind-the-scenes footage from the shoots, learn new information, and explore the project in greater depth.
The concept for the Telegram channel «Illusion of Control»
The team behind the «Illusion of Control» project set out not to discuss addiction and its consequences, but to explore the journey itself—from the harmless phrase, «I’ll just try it, ” to the point where those consequences become truly frightening.
Polina Uratkina took on the role of editor and content designer for the Telegram channel. She reviews post copy and makes edits, while also maintaining a consistent style and visual presentation. Elizaveta Olar' also works with her; she is responsible for developing ideas and writing the posts.

For successful filming and editing, it was necessary to write a script and define the emotional tone of our video. Sofya Lagutina and Anastasia Chuvilina were responsible for this work.
In addition to the roles listed here, there were also individuals who participated in the project’s execution.
— Varvara Leontieva was responsible for video editing and also served as a set assistant during filming.
— Mishko Elizaveta handled the visual aspects of the project: creating social media covers, and also contributed to the video editing and assisted with filming.
— Valeria Markovskaya participated in location shoots, helped source content, and served as the project description editor.

Through our collaborative and diligent effort, we were able to achieve our project goal and create a short film on a socio-social theme.
