Relevance of the Topic
In the modern city, the train station remains a vital space that unites people, architecture, and movement. Investigating its visual rhythms and contrasts helps us better understand how art can convey the atmosphere and energy of this space. This graphic series illustrates how the train station transforms into a metaphor for the journey of life—a place of meetings, farewells, anticipation, and decision-making.
Idea and Concept
To explore the train station as a unique space that simultaneously unites and divides various elements of the urban system: architecture, transport, people, and signs. The focus is on conveying the atmosphere of the station as a place of transition, beginning, and end of a journey, through visual rhythms and contrasts, thereby creating a sense of the space’s dynamism and integrity.
Concept
To reflect the philosophy of continuous motion and shifting states. Create a composition where the interaction between statics and dynamics—movement, rhythm, opposites—light/shadow, solitude/crowd—is reflected through dynamic lines, silhouettes, and chiaroscuro.
Inspiration and Sources
The work draws upon the traditions of 20th-century graphic design, particularly the work of A. Deineka and V. Favorsky, emphasizing form, contrast, and rhythm in space.
