Tapestry «The Blue Man»

This project compares feelings of loneliness among people with the serenity of intentional solitude across two tapestries. The difference between external circumstances and internal states is revealed through color, light, and the figure’s posture: even in a crowd, one can feel alienated, but when alone with oneself—one can feel comfort and fullness. The project’s central idea is this: being alone does not mean being lonely.

Format: 75 × 100 cm (excluding fringe and mounting)
The size of each tapestry—75×100 cm—was chosen for three reasons: - Composition Retention: The format matches the 3:4 proportions of the original illustrations, preventing cropping and distortion. - Detail Representation: Compared to the 60×80 cm format, the area is increased by approximately 56%, providing more space to depict characters, books, the cat, and fabric texture. Detail clarity, however, depends on the weave density. - Paired Display: When the distance between the tapestries is 15–20 cm, the total width of the composition is about 165–170 cm, excluding the protruding mounting edges. This allows both pieces to be displayed above a wide chest of drawers or sofa, emphasizing their thematic contrast.
