Orbit-7
204 × 146 cm
A wall textile object measuring 204 × 146 cm, crafted using Jacquard weaving from cotton yarn. The project is based on an original geometric composition: converging rays, stepped portals, and op-art elements have been translated into the physical structure of the fabric. The color palette was adapted to the machine’s six-color technology. The canvas is designed for mounting on a curtain rod and finished with woven fringe, serving as a visual focal point in a contemporary interior.
Concept
The project concept is inspired by the aesthetic of 1960s–70s cosmic modernism and the scientific romanticism of the orbital conquest era. The composition is structured as a visualization of a starship’s navigation map: centripetal light beams, tiered airlocks, and optical quasars create the illusion of a hyperspace corridor. Translating the graphic design into cotton jacquard removes the blueprint’s machine rigidity—the texture of the thread and the optical blending of the fibers make the futuristic portal a tangible and warm interior object.
