A series of twelve monotypes depicts an architecture that fades and diffuses across a gradient—from sharp lines to hazy blots—to convey how the fleeting moments and images from the past that a person experiences throughout their life dissolve in their memory before death.
Places may outlive a person, but the unique city of their memories disappears with them. Monotype helps capture St. Petersburg in the singular way that one of the casual passersby remembered it.
