Full Title: «My Daily Walk from Home to the Bus Stop. August 14, 1988. Photographs Every 15 Steps.»A very intimate piece.Artist Shaburov reflected: if art isn’t some borrowed gimmick, then here is a documentation of the most inconspicuous activity in my life. For many years he lived in the town of Beryozovsky, Sverdlovsk Oblast, from where he commuted to the regional center every morning and evening. Now, he simply walked his familiar daily route and photographed what he saw, every 15 steps. As funny as it sounds, Shaburov did not manage to execute this endeavor on the first attempt. Several times he abandoned the project because of shyness—he feared that passersby would mistake him for someone insane.
