The photo chronicle «All Is Dust, Time Is Eternal, ” consisting of 18 frames, was created as the final project for the course „Fundamentals of Photography and Graphic Design.“ The project incorporates photographic research and expeditions to abandoned locations in the Leningrad Region that held profound significance in the lives of entire generations. These sites include the „Cosmonaut“ Pioneer Camp, the „Kommersant“ Sanatorium, the „Krasnoflotsk“ train station, and the „Chaika“ cinema.
The memory of these places remains alive with previous generations, yet the current generation often fails to consider their lost importance. The photo chronicle „All Is Dust, Time Is Eternal“ is an attempt to see how humanity recedes and nature returns through these abandoned places—to find in this not horror, but a natural beauty and atmosphere.

Working on such a theme, one begins to understand that decay is part of the great cycle of life. The viewer unconsciously asks themselves: what was here before? why did people abandon these places? Photochronicle is a reminder that without our constant involvement, any—even the most monumental and significant structures—turn into ruins; it is a conversation about the cyclical nature of life and death. My task was to become a photo-archaeologist, exploring the details, the light, the influence of nature, and the atmosphere of a frozen place.
