The core idea was to merge the old, widely known dry felting technique with modern forms, creating a contrast between materials of the past and the present.

The use of this tactilely pleasing material inspired the lamp’s on/off mechanism. To turn the light on, you simply rotate the top portion of the lamp by one section.
This is where the naming came from—feel_felt—feel the felt.
When discussing the overall CMF of the entire object, it is a play on contrasts. The lamp base is made from brushed stainless steel, utilizing stamping technology. The felt, which resembles traditional boots or vintage quilted jackets, is dyed in vibrant colors using natural dyes, further emphasizing the contrast between different eras and technologies.

Felting Process:
It all begins with a simple mold made of soy foam. This mold serves as the base for the future lampshade. Wool is stitched onto it using the dry felting method. Hats are created in a similar fashion. Next, the lampshade is treated with a fixative and removed from the mold.
Using the simple dry felting technology allows local communities to participate in the production process—specifically, creating remote job opportunities, such as for retirees, since minimal equipment is required to create this item (a mold, a pair of felting needles, and the wool itself).
The device has a simple structure, consisting of a base that houses the battery, a charging port, and an LED lamp that does not generate heat, ensuring safety when in contact with the felt. Above this is the rotating section, which contains the mechanism responsible for turning the lamp on and off. Attached to the rotating section is a frame on which the felt lampshade is secured. This allows the upper part to maintain its shape.
