The Golden Ring has long been associated with temples, ancient architecture, and landmarks in my mind, but after visiting various cities within the Golden Ring, my perception of them has shifted. Each city possesses its own soul—one woven not only from its history and architecture but also from countless details: its people, its crafts, its nature, its streets, its sounds, and the rhythm of its daily life. I love exploring these places through unhurried walks, observing these nuances and striving to feel the character and mood of the location. Therefore, alongside the ancient churches in this series, you can see window casings and the work of a blacksmith as reminders of artisanal traditions, the quiet riverbank that locals return to from time to time, and urban landscapes reflecting the city’s everyday existence. In this collection of photographs, I’ve compiled my view of Bogolyubovo, Vladimir, and Kolchugino, endeavoring to capture the atmosphere of these cities—showing not only the history of these places but how they continue to live today.
