About the Festival

«Vyatskiye Kholmy» is a series of races held in Kirov since 2016. It includes four events: «Begotnya"—an indoor race, «Laskovy May"—a spring run, «Nochnaya Vyatka"—an evening run, and «Vyatskiye Kholmy"—a sports festival. The project unites runners of all levels and promotes an active lifestyle in the region.
The running routes traverse the hilly terrain of Kirov. It’s no wonder Kirov is called the city of seven hills. This feature makes the festival unique among other urban and regional races.
Concept

Each festival run is marked with its own pictogram, reflecting its unique characteristic. «Begotnya» is a circle, symbolizing the arena and cyclical movement. «Lasovy May» is a flower, representing spring and the start of the season. «Nochnaya Vyatka» is a star, referencing the nighttime format of the run. «Vyatskie Kholmy» is a sign shaped like the letter «X”—the first letter in the word „holmy.“
During the runs, these signs come to life, and dynamic, bright hills emerge from them—a symbol of the city’s terrain.
Arrows on the central hills allow the dynamism of movement to be conveyed even on static media, and they can also function as directional indicators.
