Zine: «Dread. The Life Cycle of Fear»

Throughout life, people feel fear—perhaps the most universal emotion on the planet. With each stage of development, this feeling evolves into increasingly «terrifying» and agonizing phobias, manifesting through personal evolution.
Fears are difficult to control. They only grow and proliferate like a parasite that is unbearable to fight. Yet, sooner or later, the moment arrives when one simply no longer has the strength to fear; at that point, the only option remaining is to accept all your fears and let them go.

THIS ZINE consists of two complementary parts: a linear narrative detailing the evolution of an individual’s phobias and fears, and non-fiction spreads exploring various facts about the connection between fear and humanity.

Storyboard

FEAR is a full-fledged character in the zine. It is depicted as a sharp, abstract figure.
With every new spread, its size increases, illustrating the growth of its power alongside the human’s maturation.
However, by the end of the narrative, nothing remains of fear, for over the years, a person conquers all their FEARS/PHOBIAS and becomes BOLD.
