This body of work explores the phenomenon of healthy escapism through the metaphor of melancholic memory, where patchwork embroidery becomes a tool for carefully assembling human identity. By weaving together diverse, vibrant fragments of memories with stitches, the pieces recreate an inner «quiet harbor”—a safe mental space necessary for protection against the stress of real-world reality.
The main message of the project is that consciously returning to the «golden» moments of the past is not a destructive escape from life, but rather an ecological, therapeutic resource that warms the soul, heals it, and helps one find solid ground for moving forward.

The art project was decided to be created in the style of embroidery and patchwork. The technique I used mentally calls back to poignant memories and a longing for my homeland. Everything was constructed from colorful scraps, like distant and happy fragments of memory. By sewing the patches together, I am metaphorically stitching together pieces of memory. It has a very domestic, almost grandmotherly feel. Fabric offers a warmth that plastic or glass simply cannot replicate.
