Dead Man’s Chest: Sculpting

Andrey—a man who has endured a great deal of bitterness in his lifetime. A difficult childhood, the loss of loved ones, betrayal, psychiatric hospitalization—and only then does he find the strength to love life. The doctor informs him that he is terminally ill. He takes his own life and dies in his apartment; his friends forget him, and no one comes to bury him. His soul becomes trapped on the boundary between Earth and Hell within his apartment with his corpse.

The goal was to convey the hero’s depression through the tattered silhouette, using rags, ropes, and wounds on the body. All of these elements are characterized by smooth, enveloping forms, which create a sense of weight.
