Media noise and the constant stream of content are noticeably changing everyday language: familiar words are increasingly giving way to slang and Anglicisms, and many expressions are being reduced to a few letters or meme phrases. This series of illustrations pits two opposing worlds against each other—the popular culture of «lubok» prints and proverbs alongside modern slang. In the images, «lubok"-style inhabitants of bank cards offer to replace trendy slang with folk wisdom.
Why the Lubok? Its language is inherently unique—whimsical characters, folk humor, and grotesque expressiveness make it instantly recognizable and vibrant even today. In 3D graphics, the Lubok retains its distinct character but takes on a new look: fresh, bright, and surprisingly contemporary.
