CONCEPT

The central focus of Yorgos Lanthimos’s film «The Tooth» is a family living in an isolated house behind a high fence. Three grown children have never left the property’s confines and are raised by their parents in an artificial reality where words are given distorted meanings and the outside world is declared lethally dangerous.

According to a legend created by his father, a child may leave home only when they lose their primary canine tooth.

MUDBOARD COLLECTION
The project presents two sets of grillz. The fangs in them grow excessively: they elongate, disrupt proportions, appear «incorrect» and hypertrophied. This deliberate grotesquery is a rejection of conformity and an attempt to reclaim what is typically suppressed. The fangs are combined with intentionally naive forms—smooth lines and swirls—reflecting naiveté, childhood, and infantilism.
