«I see no fundamental difference between a handshake and a poem, ” said Paul Celan, perhaps referring not only to the author’s relationship with readers but also with the creators of the past. The handshake across time is a metaphor for acknowledging the closeness between artists living in different eras. This very idea of dialogue as a form of timeless partnership underpins the exhibition.
The exhibition features conceptual «pairs»: works by residents of the HSE ART GALLERY alongside reproductions of global cultural masterpieces from the Gallery’s collection—an ecosystem created with the participation of the HSE Art and Design School for institutions, collectors, and viewers.
