A series of portraits dedicated to actresses whose personas have become part of cultural iconography. It is a dual gaze: on the real women and on their characters—the heroines who gossip, make mistakes, can be distant, but then embrace and forgive.

Using shades and colored hatching, I show that each one contains warmth, coolness, light, and shadow. Their desperation is born from this contrast: they keep fighting, even when everything is going wrong.

The portraits were created using digital drawing techniques that imitate pencil hatching. Each portrait is composed of multiple colored lines layered one upon another. The technique references drawings made with colored pens or pencils.
Every shade is a distinct facet—of the actress, and of her characters. Blue signifies coolness and calculation, red embodies passion and anger, green suggests hope and naïveté, and yellow speaks of warmth and nostalgia.
