Portfolio and Statement of Purpose

My name is Igor Falin, and I am applying to the Master’s Program in «Object and Industrial Design.»By education, I hold a Master of Engineering from the Aerospace Faculty in the field of «Composite Materials.» However, for the past 15 years, I worked as a Product Manager in IT. Now, I am intentionally returning to «tangible products"—I want to design practical, beautiful objects, both small and in larger series.My background gives me a strong starting position: from my engineering education, I have an understanding of structures and manufacturing; from IT product management, I bring skills in user research, scenario planning, and analytics.Additionally, I studied industrial design at the School, where I completed two projects (one is in my portfolio), and I run a Telegram channel about object and industrial design.HSE chose this applied format—due to the large number of practical projects, the faculty composition, and the curriculum—because it is precisely what I need right now.Upon completing my Master’s, I plan to launch my own product line and, in the future, open a design studio.
