The purpose of the backgrounds is to convey the film’s melancholic mood through shapes and colors, as well as through the use of textures that remain consistent across all locations.

The first objective was to develop a background with a straightforward workflow, ensuring that every team member could create it quickly without the need for specialized brushes.The second objective was to capture the film’s mystical atmosphere within the mountain meadow setting—achieved through soft transitions, a specific color palette, and a subtle blur, which evokes a sense of the unspoken—a key element for any mystical aesthetic.

Developing a setting based on the chosen technological concept—amber.
The project required developing a world where amber was found around every corner, leading most of the technology to be based upon it. It was also necessary to convey this world’s fantastical nature through rich, vibrant colors and backgrounds that blended realistic and graphic styles.
