CREATIVE BRIEF

The module assignment was to design an original accessory or a series of accessories. For my project idea, I chose to create a series of curtain clips designed in the style of trendy dopamine clips.
GOAL

reimagine the familiar hair clip as an interesting accessory by developing a series of functional and decorative curtain clasps
RESEARCH
WednesdayCurtain tiebacks can serve as a standalone visual accent.
Conclusion: The clasp must interact organically with the textile, avoid damaging the fabric, and simultaneously complement the interior design.
RESEARCH
Market analysis

The market offers traditional grips, laces, brushes, metallic holders, and magnetic fasteners.
Conclusion: to integrate magnetic fastening with an unconventional, pliable form.

Target Audience
Target Audience: Individuals interested in design, trends, and the ability to personalize space without major renovations.
Needs: (1) Aesthetically pleasing and functional accessories (2) Ease of use and simple installation (3) Variety in shapes and color options
Conclusion: The accessory must be emotionally and visually appealing, allowing the user to express individuality.
CONCEPT
It all started with the question, «What are you using improperly?» Almost immediately, a scenario popped into my mind—like I’m pinning a package of macaroni with my hair clip…If a clip is capable of securing not just hair, why not adapt it for other materials and scales?
SEARCHING FOR FORM AND PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
(1) The clip must be constructed from a flexible yet durable material.
(2) Creating cutouts is suggested to allow for more graceful bending.
This will allow the clip to last longer because «stress bends» will not occur during use.
(3) The magnets are placed inside the two halves of the clasp, symmetrically
relative to the central bend zone.
MATERIALS

TPU — thermoplastic polyurethane(1) flexible and wear-resistant (2) allows for variable design (both color and shape) (3) manufacturing — 3D printing and casting

Neodymium Magnets(1) Compactness (2) Fast Closure and Opening
COLOR PALETTES
PROTOTYPE
Created from thick cardstock and toned with acrylic paint, it even managed to pass a week-long test drive on my curtain…
