Creation of «Frankenstein’s Monster"—a music video development for the track by MM44 TURBO SHITPOST MACHINE, released in 2022 as part of the album «Experiment.»

I was drawn to the track’s irony and dynamism; it was a perfect fit for my animation style, so I decided to animate it. I began by developing the Frankenstein Monster character—a creature assembled from the bodies of deceased artists. I envisioned it in countless different forms and illustrated it on many typical album covers, common to both domestic and international hip-hop scenes.

In the story, a mad scientist decides to sew a new rapper from deceased musicians. Therefore, the image of his creation must reference not only Frankenstein’s monster but also contemporary rappers—their artistic personas and their risky, vibrant, and provocative lifestyles.
As a result, my creation, much like the mad scientist in the music video, is a hybrid drawing elements from numerous famous artists.

Experimenting with color, my goal was to make the characters stand out against their environment. By using monotonous neon-electric colors for them, I wanted to sharply emphasize the strangeness of the creatures inhabiting this grim and deliberately distorted world. The flickering stormy lighting, reminiscent of a lightning strike animating Frankenstein’s monster, enhances the rhythm and color contrast.
The track’s lyrics are quite complex to parse on the first listen; it comes across more as a very catchy melody where the vocals and spoken word merely complement the beat. Consequently, the animation tells a short story, visually echoing the soundscape.
