Concept and Function: GRANI is not only a candle holder/stand, it is a small glass sculpture handcrafted using a technique dominated by Australian artist Ben Young.
The target audience is connoisseurs of glass products as home decor.
Technique, technology and materials: Each glass element of the GRANI candlestick is hand-cut, similar to Young’s creations. But unlike him, we process the edges of the parts by placing them in a fire polishing oven at temperatures above 800°C. This not only makes the edges safe, but also gives them a unique smoothness. Even a small candlestick 20 cm high consists of 50 such parts. After careful assembly, we use a joint compound that hardens under a special spectrum UV lamp. Over time, it becomes even more durable when exposed to normal sunlight. Creating a GRANI candlestick is a multi-hour process that requires painstaking work and skill.
